For those who prefer to walk slowly but steadily, this tour on foot through the Gothic Quarter and La Ribera can be the ideal. The Gothic buildings and the remains of the ancient Roman Barcino mingle with Modernism and the commercial activity of the city. La Rambla, alleys, squares, shops and cafes, the cathedral and churches of Catalan Gothic style are the scenery of this route.
The visit begins by las Ramblas, and we will arrive at Boqueria market, the most important food market in the city, From there, we will go through the Old Jewish quarter, and we will arrive at what is now called Gothic quarter, with its Cathedral (entrance optional), will make a brief break and we will go to the Rivera quarter to see Santa María del Mar, a church with a Catalan purely Gothic architecture.
During the tour we are going to stop for a while to drink a coffe or a chocolate or a “Tapa”.

IMPORTANT: Iit,s not allow to enter wtih shorts or mini dresses and the shoulders have to be cover, you must dress appropriately for a temple, on Saturdays evenings and Sundays is closed for tourist only religous services. The Boqueria Market is closed on Sundays and on Mondays many of the fish shops are closed. |
